Tracy Bartram has been singing since she first took the stage at Sunday school at a migrant hospital in Melbourne’s Nunawading, singing Jesus Loves Me.
The irony of discovering her Jewish heritage at the start of her comedy career has never been lost on her…
Bartram started incorporating song parodies into her stand-up routines early in her career and her definitive take on Rawhide ,the Frankie Lane classic, has been enjoyed all around the world.
Except that this version is about condoms… Of course it is!
Tracy stand-up shows have long incorporated music and she is known for having the crème de la crème of Melbourne’s musicians backing her.
Tracy’s towering humour deems it plausible to form the world’s tallest band, The Tall, with Wilbur Wilde & Bob Valentine, Geoff Cox and 12 other blokes over 6 feet tall.
They make for a pretty funny sight piling into a cab for the gigs.
But she also sings red hot renditions as vocalist with The Tracy Bartram Band, with some of the finest players the Australian music industry can make available
She can be heard as a guest singer with the John Montesante Quintet, one of the joys of her work.
And Tracy and Band love private functions for milestone events. Imagine a showcase performance at your 50th, 60th or 70th!
‘ The Tracy Bartram Band is a gift from the heavens! How does one woman have such a voice, a warmth and humour for those ‘in-between-song’ moments and such rapport with the audience?’
